Homemade Gift Certificates for My 9 Years Old Son

My son's birthday is next week. He is going to be 9!!! I'm a single mom and can't afford a big gift. I want to make gift certificate booklet. It is almost free and if I can be creative enough it can be a great gift. I need help with some original ideas. Thanks.

Homemade gift certificates are indeed a great gift. They are easy to make and can make a wonderful and meaningful gift. Here are some ideas:

• Good for 1 movie night - I Pick the Movie and the snacks


• Good for 1 special lunch of my choice - candies are allowed :0)


• Good for 1 treat of my choice


• Good for 1 hour of TV or Video Games (I know my nephew will love this – he loves TV and allowed to watch it only 2 hours a day)


• Good for 1 overnight at grandparents'/uncle's/aunt's


• Good for 1 stay up 30 minutes past my bedtime


• Good for 1 big ice cream bowl


• Good for 1 pizza night


• Good for 1 bubble bath with all the accessories I want


• Good for 1 day without homework (mommy will write me a note for the teachers)


• Good for 1 uninterrupted hour of quality time with mom– I decide what we're doing

Christmas is in a couple of weeks and this year we're on a tight budget. We decided to give each other homemade gift certificates. I need some good ideas for gift certificates for my teenage daughter. Thanks.

I think homemade gift certificates are great and I love the concept of giving . Teenagers can be quite challenging but let's give it a try…

• Good for 1 full tank of Gas (if she has a car)


• Good for 1 note for the teacher for whatever I choose (not educational but that's a gift your teen would really appreciate)


• Good for 1 extra hour of sleep in the morning on school day


• Good for 1 Mom's taxi Service - 1 Ride to and from where ever I want (in our town –with 1 day notice)


• Good for 1 Stay out late


• Good for 1 dinner of my choice


• Good for 1 slumber party with my friends


• Good for 1 day free of chores


• Good for 1 day off from school

I Need Help With Ideas for Homemade Gift Certificates for My Best Friend

My Best friend gave birth to her gorgeous son 2 weeks ago. I want to help her with the new baby and with the Readjustment. I thought of making her a gift certificate booklet with coupons that offer my help but I can't think of anything besides babysitting. Any ideas?

You are a good friend and quite creative girl. I never thought of this direction – using homemade gift certificates as a gift for a new mom. Nice!
Here are few things you can give her:

• A free night while I babysit


• Going to the supermarket and buying some groceries for me (make a list for me) – you can decide if the coupon includes paying for the groceries or just for the shopping


• Home cooked food in boxes (to go straight to the freezer)


• Clean your house


• 2 hours nap while I watch over the baby


• A delivery of home baked cookies


• Breakfast with you and the new baby (at home (means I make and clean) or out)
